Microsoft Innovation Center Nepal in partnership with the U.S. Department of State, CRDF Global and ACE Institute of Management has launched a new initiative to support technology entrepreneurship in South and Central Asia. REC@nnect Regional Startup Boot Camp, which will take place May 5-7, 2014 in Kathmandu, Nepal. We want to ensure that Nepal is represented by the best early stage tech entrepreneurs at the Boot Camp and DEMO Day.
We are looking for founders of tech companies who have products or services currently in a user testing stage, pilot stage, or already available on the market to apply to the REC@nnect Startup Boot Camp.

Nepal REGIONAL REC@nect Startup Boot Camp & DEMO Day
It is open to entrepreneurs from the South and Central Asian countries who have a tech start-up. Selected 40 entrepreneurs will attend the entrepreneurial training, get mentorship designed to spark innovative thinking, and accelerate their technology ventures. Please note that CRDF Global will be offering travel sponsorships to two tech entrepreneurs per country.
The main components of the Startup Boot Camp will include:
o Interactive entrepreneurship training by US entrepreneurs and investors to a community of 40 entrepreneurs. To be selected to participate and invited to Nepal, please follow the link here.
o One-on-one mentoring to help entrepreneurs refine go-to market, develop investor presentations and elevator pitches.
o Three-month post-event virtual mentorship for the top ten finalists of the venture pitch tournament.

1st place: $3,000

3rd place: iPad mini
Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan. A founder or co-founder must be either a resident or citizen of one of these countries. Entrepreneurs or researchers who are permanent residents and/or citizens of an eligible country in South Asia or Central Asia and are not permanent residents or citizens of the U.S.
Types of Ventures
- Founders of science or tech companies who are a residents or a citizens of a South and Central Asia country (Please see list of countries here: http://www.reconnectsca.org/where-we-work.html). US Residents or Citizens are not eligible to apply.
- The product or service is currently in a user testing stage, pilot stage, or available on the market
- Venture is for-profit and less than three years old from date of launching
- Founder has raised less than $1M in funds or revenue.
